Works and Exhibitions
Their dialogue aims to examine the phenomenon of “desertification” from ecological, economic and social-psychological perspectives in computer games and in digital communication such as chat rooms.
1. Moving image, videos by Tatyana Zambrano:
The aesthetics of Tatyana’s videos with desert images (albeit hyper-realistic) from computer games are related to the aesthetics of Traderpiggy’s chat book. This is achieved through pixelation and the concept of low-poly art.
Her captions are artistic, humorous and associative with quotes from Traderpiggy’s chat book.
2. Still image , plots and objects by Beate Baumgärtner
The new, often brutalizing forms of communication in digital interaction reveal our zeitgeist and are caused by a variety of factors, such as the overuse of the Internet and social media such as chat rooms; as a result of increasing isolation, political uncertainty, fears of climate change and the economic situation. The humor in their work connects both artists.
